The Role of the Upper House and the Federal Dream: The Analysis on the Representation and Competency of the Current Upper House
The paper studies and analyses the history of the beginning and transformation of the Upper House, the history of Myanmar’s parliament, the debate on unitary or federal and the structure and function of Myanmar’s Upper House and the political situation at present and the representation and competency of the Upper House in Myanmar.
The paper aims to support Myanmar’s Upper House to become more competent and provide questions and considerations regarding the roles of the Upper House for the establishment of future federal democratic union of Myanmar.
